Amsterdam Open

Since the nineties, URKV Michiel de Ruyter has always hosted a yearly canoepolo tournament. Initially the tournament started as a small venue with mainly Dutch canoepolo teams. In 2009 the tournament named the Amsterdam Open which stood for change and aimed to attract more international teams.

Over the years, the Amsterdam Open has evolved into one of the largest and best organized Dutch tournaments. The tournament surely attracts the largest international audience. Essential for the success of the tournament is the planning of the tournament. It’s always scheduled the weekend prior or after the Deutschland Cup in Essen. Therefore providing the possibility for teams to attend two great tournaments and play a large number of games in just one week with limited travel time.

The Amsterdam Open takes place at a beautiful location at the outskirts of the Dutch capital city. A visit to Amsterdam is convenient as public transport to the lively center is very good.
